Awarii Dunes Golf Club
Awarii Dunes Golf Club

Jim Engh, the designer of Awarii Dunes, has often stated that his inspiration can be traced to his trips to Ireland to vist the golf links of the Emerald Isle. Awarii Dunes Golf Club, an 18 hole championship course measuring approximately 7,000 yards, was built on sand hills created by nature, not man. The course winds through, around, and sometimes up and over these dunes. Less than 30,000 yards of dirt were moved to create the golf course. Jim believes, “It could be one of my best”.

“The rolling character of the land reminds me in many ways of some of the softer Irish links courses; it is the gentle and quirky rolls and falls of the native landforms that most inspire me with this project. Very little, if any, excavation will occur over the entire project. In fact, there will be no disturbance to the existing grasses and vegetation.”

Those looking for an Irish experience in the heartland of America will not be disappointed. Firm and fast conditioning coupled with the natural dunes and greens that are present in the topography will provide a unique and unforgettable experience for the fortunate few that have the opportunity to experience Awarii Dunes Golf Club.
